September Happenings at The Retreat Center
The Retreat Center staff was kept unusually busy this month with day-long and overnight guests in the house nearly every day, counting up to a thousand in all.
- Our largest populations were eight Catholic groups that included religious congregations of men and women, the presbyterate of a neighboring diocese, the Leadership Institute for Archdiocesan Clergy, a Catholic parish staff and a Marriage Encounter weekend.
- September marks the beginning of the new school year, so school-related events resumed. Sacred Heart Major Seminary's Thursday evening theology course began on September 11 and will conclude in December.
- The Catholic High School bi-weekly retreats are in session and parish confirmation retreats are underway, keeping the Activity Room abuzz with young life.
- Three large social action groups accomplished their intense work on behalf of justice in the retreat setting.
- A number of Protestant communities worshipped some new and others returning to a now familiar place.
We are enriched by the diversity of our guests and we are grateful for the blessing that each person brings to The Retreat Center.
Mass is celebrated in the main chapel at 7:00 p.m. every Sunday.
