November Happenings at The Retreat Center
In November a few more than 1100 guests came to The Retreat Center for some sort of spiritual renewal.
- The largest number of guests this month was made up of youth who participated in eight high school retreat days and one confirmation retreat.
- Various Protestant worshipping communities in the area returned to the Center for prayer and reflection.
- Two congregations of Women Religious and one congregation of religious men chose to hold their community meetings at St. John.
- The Center staff hosted the local Northwest Wayne Vicariate for lunch and the monthly meeting.
- An annual Catholic community retreat was held on one weekend.
- The marriage preparation retreat, Covenant Love, welcomed 23 couples to reflect on key elements to consider before marriage.
- Marriage Encounter conducted a large retreat weekend this month .
- The theology class from Sacred Heart Major Seminary met every Thursday.
- The eight-week Learning to Pray with the Bible program concluded, with extremely positive evaluations. One participant said: "If you want to experience Jesus personally, come and learn how to pray with Scripture."
