New Missal, Same Reality MOSAIC, Fall 2011

"In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God."
These words of St. Paul in his Letter to the Romans (15:17) provide the basic reason why you and I are here, namely, to serve and celebrate our Lord Jesus Christ's presence among us. How best to do this but to gather at the Lord's table and to hear his inspired words proclaimed at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass?
On the first Sunday of Advent, the Catholic Church in the United States implemented the new Roman Missal. The translation will be more faithful to the Latin original and provide our brothers and sisters a deeper theological appreciation of the Mass. Our latest issue of Mosaic provides an apologetic of sorts from different angles concerning the new translation as well as the reality we celebrate that remains unchanged. We invite you to download the issue or call 313-883-8508 to receive the Mosaic regularly through the mail.
The introduction of the new Roman Missal into the daily life of Catholics is proof positive that the Eucharistic celebration demands our constant adoration and understanding. Throughout these approaching days, weeks and months as we educate one another on the Missal, may we embrace the attitude of our own St. Paul, whose eyes remained steadfast on our Lord Jesus Christ.
With prayerful best wishes, I remain
Sincerely yours in Christ,
