Youth Ministry Formation Opportunities
Certification Packet | Re-certification Packet

The Office for Youth Ministry offers a variety of opportunities for Youth Ministry Formation. The first is a series of topics we have offered in the past and hope to expand by way of accessibility in the future. The Youth Ministry Formation Topics are foundational and were created for all who minister to youth. The courses are offered in a week-long format in the summer at Sacred Heart Seminary. In addition the classes are held on Five Saturday throughput the year. This series combined with the Catechetical Foundational Topics offers Provisional Youth Ministry Certification.

Youth Ministry Leadership Formation

The second is a more advanced program offered by the Center for Ministry Development (CMD). The Certificate Program in Youth Ministry will take two years to complete and requires a commitment of two full weekend days four times each year and some follow up work. We recommend the latter program for those who have been working in ministry and are looking for more advanced formation. This fall the CMD courses are expanded to include an additional offering on Wednesdays and Thursdays in various parishes with easy access to I-75 freeway.

The CMD program, once complete, qualifies for 180 clock hours which is required for the level III certification along with additional 13 credit hours in theology and Catechesis.
